Abstract
This section offers an introduction to this book volume, Digital Transformation of Public Services: Societal Impacts in Sweden and Beyond. The chapter explains some of the background to how digitalization and the digital transformation are gaining a foothold in the popular discourse about the welfare and the public sector, and how it may change as a result of this transformation. The chapter concludes by briefly presenting the chapters covered in this volume.
