Managerial decision making: An international comparison

Abstract

This paper describes research on influence and power sharing among senior levels of management in successful modern organizations. Results from eight different countries fail to sustain any clear "culturological" explanation. National differences, however, are important and account for 10-15 per cent of the variance, while differences between sectors (dominant technology) account for 5-10 per cent of the variance in decision-making patterns.
