Abstract
Responsible management education (RME) courses are fundamental to increase students' awareness of environmental and social challenges, and to promote the leadership of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Nonetheless, these courses are often characterised by a pedagogical approach that fails to address the importance of emotions and how to manage them. While focusing on teachers and students, this chapter presents an overview of the literature on emotions in the context of teaching and learning. Against this backdrop, we explain how managing emotions can help improve the quality of RME courses, such as corporate social responsibility and sustainability management. By offering some initial thoughts on how to manage emotions in the classroom, we hope to encourage discussions among scholars and managers interested in advancing the United Nations' 2030 agenda.
