Abstract

In this article, Wiley Wakeman argues that organizations should advocate for the employees they let go. Losing a job is upsetting for the individual employee, but normally also for the organisation and colleagues they leave behind. To make the transition easier, but also to develop a more long-term attractiveness, Wakeman suggests that companies use a three-step process; identify capabilities, search for complementary roles and coordinate the investment in leaving employees.
