Abstract
This repository contains the replication materials for the paper "Beyond Truth‑telling: A Replication Study on School Choice" (Tommy Andersson, Dany Kessel, Nils Lager, Elisabet Olme and Simon Reese), Journal of Applied Econometrics, 2026.
The materials permit an independent researcher to reproduce the main results presented in the paper using synthetic example data provided in this package. The pipeline (Python → R → MATLAB) generates example datasets, recreates the probability plot of ranking a school for students in the marginal priority group, produces the regression results, and runs the Hausman test that generates Table 1 in the paper, which is a direct implementation of the replication package of "Beyond Truth-Telling: Preference Estimation with Centralized School Choice and College Admissions" by Gabrielle Fack, Julien Grenet and Yinghua He, published in American Economic Review, 2019.
