Abstract

Decision models for optimizing decisions in mining. Two principal models are presented:1) For optimizing the rate of production in a mine2) For optimizing the cut-off grade. The models are based on dynamic programming and simulate the economic consequences of alternative decisions. Computer programs containing the models are presented. Other decision problems are discussed, e.g. concerning technology and the choice of final products leaving the mine.
