Abstract

Hypothesis We ask participants in a controlled experimental setting to evaluate a firm based on a paragraph from a 10-k report that only differs in the extent to which it contains brand-related information. If the degree of BRIDI influences participants' evaluations positively, this provides suggestive evidence that BRIDI has a causal relationship to relevant outcome measures, such as performance evaluations.
