Expertise
I hold the H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf’s Chaired Professor in Leadership at Stockholm School of Economics (SSE). I am also Distinguished Visiting Professor at Hanken School of Economics and Honorary Professor at University of St Andrews Business School.
My research currently focuses on craft organization, socio-ecological transitions in food production, and the embodied performance of leadership. I regularly contribute to international conferences and publish in journals such as Human Relations, Academy of Management Learning & Education, Organization Studies and Journal of Business Ethics. I have authored, co-authored or co-edited nine books, including the successful textbook, Business Research Methods, published by Oxford University Press. I have previously served as Editor-in-Chief of Management Learning. Currently I am an Associate Editor for Organization Theory and a trustee for the Council of the Society for the Advancement of Management Studies (SAMS).
I have extensive research experience of working with practitioners in large businesses, small and medium-sized enterprises and public sector organizations. From January 2027, I will be working on two related research projects to develop alternative models of craft food entrepreneurship in Sweden, funded by Vetenskapsrådet (VR) and Kamprad Family Foundation. I work closely with doctoral researchers and welcome applications from students whose interests relate to my areas of expertise.
