Expertise

I am a Professor in the Dept. of Economics at the Stockholm School of Economics. I am also a CEPR Research Fellow and a Wallenberg Academy Fellow.

My research interests are in the fields of macroeconomics, labor economics, and household economics. A key focus of my research is on understanding how tax and transfer programs affect employment. I have, for example, studied the role of social insurance in accounting for cross-country differences in retirement patterns, alternative ways of achieving fiscal sustainability of retirement programs in the face of population aging, and the effect of childcare subsidies on household time allocation, fertility, and the gender wage gap.
