Expertise
Jonas Dahl is an Affiliated researcher. He conducted his PhD at the Department of Management and Organization at SSE.
His research explores the dynamics of failure sharing in organizations, focusing on how psychological factors—including cost-benefit evaluations, shame, guilt, individual mindsets, and self-compassion—interact with organizational norms and values to shape employees’ willingness to share failures. By integrating emotional dynamics into error management and learning-from-failure research, his work provides a more nuanced understanding of failure-sharing processes and their role in fostering organizational learning and innovation. His research also offers practical insights for leaders seeking to enhance failure sharing.
Beyond academia, he is an experienced leader and senior consultant, guiding organizations through complex transformations and helping leaders cultivate cultures that encourage an open communication of failures and errors. He has delivered custom programs and consultancy services for a wide range of organizations in different sectors, including Volvo, Schibsted, Roche, Scania, Riksbanken, as well as several Swedish government agencies, including the Police Authority among others.
