Expertise

My work is broadly situated within the critical facet of Marketing and Consumer Research. In my dissertation, I draw on philosophical work on cynicism to explore why our contemporary consumer culture seems immune to traditional forms of ideology critique. As a response to this state, my research focuses on alternative forms of knowledge and theorizing, drawing from art such as absurd theatre, cubist painting, and metamodern poetry, as well as philosophical approaches informed by critical theory and poststructuralism. Outside of my dissertation work, I am currently involved in a project studying the use of methodologies from analytic philosophy to approach questions of organization and virtual reality, as well as a project which advocates a shift towards process-relational ontology in the marketing discipline.
