Expertise

Diving into the intricacies of strategic management, my research journey investigates how top managers and employees anticipate and navigate new strategies. I am fascinated by this thrilling expedition through the unpredictable and dynamic terrain of developing highly novel outcomes, where every step is a leap toward the unknown. Drawing from the rich fields of sociology and social psychology, I delve deep into the processes behind succeeding and failing. Throughout my journey toward becoming a scholar, I have held (visiting) research positions at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Warwick Business School, King's Business School, and Stanford University.

I actively engage in the global academic community. My roles include serving on the Editorial Review Boards of Journal of Mangement Studies, Global Strategy Journal, Long Range Planning, and Journal of Business Research, and Special Issue Editor with Organisation Studies. I further act as an Associate Program Chair for the Strategic Management Society (Strategy Practice Interest Group) and host a virtual writing group.

I am an Assistant Professor in the Strategy Group (Department Marketing & Strategy). I obtained my doctoral degree from WU Vienna University of Economics and Business (Austria) and was a postdoctoral research fellow at BI Norwegian Business School (Oslo/Bergen).

Before joining academia, I worked in various industry positions, including roles at a private bank in Vienna, Hilton Hotels in Edinburgh, Austrian Chamber of Commerce in Italy, Rewe Group Austria, and RHI International. I obtained my undergraduate and graduate studies in Austria (WU), the UK (University of Edinburgh) and in India (Indian Institute of Management Bangelore).
