Expertise
I rely on mixed methods (experiments, field data, interviews, and archival sources) and approaches (deductive, inductive, abductive) to address three broad questions in my research:
- How individuals make sense of and engage with innovative (deviant) behaviors and identities in ways that address social inequality and injustice?
- What sort of interventions, processes, and tools help individuals "push back" and engage in resistance against contextual and social constraints?
- How do micro-level processes (behaviors, strategies, etc.) influences social meaning, processes, and structure?
My work has been published in Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Business Ethics, Academy of Management Discoveries, Harvard Business Review, been part of best paper proceedings at the Academy of Management, been nominated and a finalist for best paper at European Group of Organizational Studies, won best paper at European Academy of Management, and best student paper at the Interdisciplinary Network for Group Studies - as well as taken up prominent positions on my parents' refrigerator.
Before joining Stockholm School of Economics, I received my PhD in Organizational Behavior from London Business School, MSc in Psychology from University College London, and BA in Political Science from Hobart College, as well as working for a few thought provoking years in investment management. When I am not working (or thinking about work), I am seeking out a the best Kanelbullar (Cinnamon Bun) in Sweden or hiking with my family (often doing both at the same time).
