Expertise

I am the Eva and Mats Qviberg Professor in Economics. My research interests are in the field of macroeconomics, with special focus on fiscal and monetary policy, inequality and labor supply. I have for example studied child care reform with an application to Germany, how demographic change affects international capital flows, how labor income risk varies over the business cycle, what explains the wage gap between those with a university degree and those without, and how tax and pension systems affect income and wealth inequality. Recently, my research has focused on fiscal and monetary policy in time of economic crisis.
