Expertise
My primary research interest concerns strategy creation, process, microfoundations, intra-organizational tension, time, and strategic issues related to the international evolution of firms. One research stream concerns questions about strategic decisions in pluralistic and geographically dispersed settings, and how managers reach a strategic decision to commit in a situation characterized by disagreement among internal groups and the role political processes play in crafting strategy. I also study the international growth of firms. Here I study the role of experience knowledge flows, and relational ties within and between firms. Another focus concerns the role of time in internationalization and strategizing, in which I am drawing on philosophical underpinnings of time and temporality. I a newer project we investigate the integration between strategy creation and sustainability.
