Expertise
Kathrin Reinsberger is an Assistant Professor at the House of Innovation at the Stockholm School of Economics.
Trained as an economist, she holds a Ph.D. in Innovation and Technology Management. Before joining SSE, Kathrin gained industry experience at BMW FIZ in Munich and at the Austrian Institute for Economic Research (WIFO) in Vienna. She has held a postdoctoral position at WU Vienna University of Economics and Business. Additionally, she was a visiting scholar at Columbia Business School in 2018 and the Laboratory of Innovation Science at Harvard in 2019, and she has an affiliation with SCANCOR Stanford University established in 2022.
Her research explores the nexus of innovation, technology and strategy - particularly how organizations can effectively acquire, evaluate, and integrate (external) knowledge to foster innovation. Her work delves into knowledge and technology management and the subsequent organisational learning, specifically within the context of search and problem solving as well as collective intelligence (crowds, contests, and communities) by using large scale empirical studies and experiments in behavioural economics and decision making.
