Expertise
I'm Professor of Digital Innovation at the Stockholm School of Economics and author of Digital Transformation in Healthcare: An Ecosystem Approach. The book has been endorsed by Tara Donnelly (former Chief Digital Officer, NHS Digital) and Stephen Critchlow (Chair, NIHR AI in Healthcare Board), among others.
My work sits at the intersection of how AI is reshaping clinical and organizational work; how health data governance — EHDS, the AI Act, MDR — is redrawing what innovators are allowed to build; and why fragmented ecosystems stop good technology from reaching patients. I'm currently co-leading (with Anna Essen) Stockholm School of Economics' programme "The Future of the Swedish Healthcare Ecosystem", recommended for Vetenskapsrådet Strategic Research Area funding in 2026.
I work with health tech companies, pharma, providers and policymakers on ecosystem strategy, data governance readiness, and why scaling stalls. I speak regularly on AI in personalised and preventive medicine and on agentic AI in cancer care.
Previously, I was a Professor at Alliance Manchester Business School and Associate Professor at Warwick. I hold a PhD from Cambridge Judge Business School. I am a Fellow of the Cambridge Digital Innovation Centre and one of the co-founders of the European Digital Platforms Research Network (EUDPRN).
My research has been published in FT50 journals such as Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Business Venturing and Organization Studies, with grants from Vetenskapsrådet, the British Academy and UKRI. Sector experience beyond healthcare spans financial services, energy, automotive and enterprise software.
Open to advisory and non-executive roles with health tech companies, expert consultations, and speaking.
